Job summary

Latino Network in Portland, OR is seeking a Community Education Worker to provide culturally specific home visits, parent-child groups, holistic wraparound services, and leadership development opportunities for families with babies and young children.

The CEW will promote family stability, connect families to housing, WIC, Head Start, and other services, and help navigate educational and health systems while supporting preschool readiness and early literacy.

Qualifications

• Experience working in the Latino community is desirable and strongly encouraged.
• Experience doing organizing/outreach/advocacy in the community.
• Strong desire to promote educational equity in the community.
• Certified Community Health Worker or ability to demonstrate CHW skills.
• Ability to work well independently and within a team.
• Willingness to conduct home visits and coordinate multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Provide families with one-on-one visits, parent-child groups, classes, and events, and perform developmental screenings.
• Conduct ASQ screenings for children infant through five years old.
• Co-facilitate CEW certification classes and participate in Steering Team meetings.
• Coordinate and facilitate culturally specific parent-child class series with team collaboration.
• Support the leadership development and engagement of parents within the community.
• Meet deadlines for mileage, reimbursements, and data reporting.
