Job summary

The Tracy Memorial Library in New London, NH seeks a Director to lead all aspects of library services and operations. The role requires guiding staff, collaborating with the Board of Trustees, Friends of the Library, and community partners while expanding programs for 4,600 residents.

The Director will manage budgeting, policy, and strategic plans, while staying current with library trends and innovations in a small-town setting.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in library/information science (ALA-accredited) and 5 years supervisory library experience.
• Integrity, budgeting, interpersonal and consensus-building skills; ability to lead and collaborate with staff and stakeholders.
• Knowledge of current trends and best practices; balance tradition with change; report to a governing Board.

Responsibilities

• Formulate and oversee implementation of library goals, policies, programs, and projects.
• Provide vision, direction, and leadership; oversee human resources and annual budgeting.
• Coordinate with Library Board and Friends of the Library; maintain strong stakeholder relationships.
• Maintain knowledge of current trends in public libraries.
