Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Disaster Program Coordinator to support management and leadership in the Victoria, TX/Corpus Christi region. The role focuses on engaging volunteers, delivering services during local disasters, and guiding trained volunteers.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree, 3+ years in social services or program delivery, and a valid driver's license. You will work closely with regional leaders, analyze data, and deploy regionally up to once a year.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with social services or service/program delivery.
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record.
  • Ability to coordinate staff and volunteer activities.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to develop project plans and budgets.
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to work outside regular duty hours, including nights and weekends.
  • Employees must complete required training and meet deployment readiness requirements.
  • Regional disaster employees are required to deploy outside their region at least once a year.
  • Must engage and mobilize communities daily in the assigned geographic area.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support to Disaster Program management and leadership within the Victoria, TX/Corpus Christi Region.
  • Support Disaster Program management and volunteer workforce, focusing on volunteer engagement and direct assistance to recurring local disasters.
  • Support specific functions at the direction of a regional functional manager when assigned.
  • Guide and support trained volunteers.
  • Implement initiatives to increase Red Cross visibility through program and service delivery.
  • Facilitate volunteer-led disaster cycle services programming and functional activities.
  • Assist with implementation of disaster cycle services program activities or functions.
  • Monitor, collect, and analyze business data to improve services.
  • Engage disaster volunteers representative of the communities they serve culturally and linguistically.
  • Support development of Disaster Leadership Volunteers for disaster readiness, preparedness, response, and recovery.
  • Participate in regional disaster response operations after completing training requirements.
  • Work daily in the assigned geographic area to engage and mobilize communities and support volunteers.
  • Deploy to disaster relief operations outside the region at least once a year.

Requirements
