Job summary

Duet is hiring a Direct Support Professional to provide community-based care and supports to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Grand Island, NE. The role emphasizes enabling participation in chosen community activities and developing daily living skills.

Shifts vary including day, evening, overnight and weekend hours. The DSP will document activities, assist with healthcare access, and may administer medications as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license in good standing.
• Access to a vehicle to transport individuals.
• Background check, drug screen, and pre-employment physical.
• Ability to communicate clearly with individuals and staff.
• Basic computer and email skills.
• Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, squat, walk, sit, stand, climb, push, carry, and grasp.

Responsibilities

• Ensure individuals participate in community activities.
• Team with service recipients to complete assessments and goals.
• Develop programs with ISP teams to reach goals.
• Provide daily documentation accurately and timely.
• Assist individuals to access community health care providers.
• Administer daily medications.
• Provide transportation to events and appointments.
