Job summary

City of Aurora is seeking a Development Officer Associate to support administration and coordination of housing rehabilitation, commercial rehabilitation, and community development programs funded by HUD and other sources.

The role requires collaboration with residents, developers, contractors, and partner agencies to manage eligibility, applications, and funding Position is grant-funded, with benefits including medical, dental, and vision coverage, paid time off, and 11 paid holidays.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience: At least two (2) years progressively responsible experience in planning or project management.
• Experience with federal HUD/local grant programs, community development and affordable housing, planning or grant administration.

Responsibilities

• Serves as a primary point of contact for housing rehabilitation, commercial rehabilitation, and community development program inquiries.
• Assists residents, property owners, developers, contractors, and partners by providing information on program eligibility, requirements, funding opportunities, and procedures.
• Supports implementation and coordination of housing rehabilitation, commercial rehabilitation, affordable housing, and community revitalization programs.
• Assists with project intake, application processing, and applicant interviews.
• Reviews applications for completeness and documents compliance with program requirements.
