Job summary

NorthStar Memorial Groups in Saint Petersburg, FL seeks a Community Development Advisor to drive pre-need sales across cemetery products and services. You will educate families, present guides, lead park tours, and build strong community relationships.

Expect active prospecting, CRM-based activity tracking, timely paperwork, and ongoing training while delivering excellent customer service and upholding industry knowledge and compliance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
• Knowledge of federal, state and local regulations related to cemetery and funeral industry.

Responsibilities

• Actively builds relationships in the community to educate and guide families in their preplanning decisions.
• Excels in setting appointments and presenting preplanning guides and products.
• Provides professional park tours of each location within the area.
• Completes paperwork timely and accurately, including contract processing requirements.
• Tracks sales activity and metrics using a CRM.
• Contacts new and existing customers to discuss product/service fit.
• Prospects daily via cold calling, door knocking, mailers, seminars, and events.
• Delivers world-class customer service with a can-do attitude.
• Maintains current knowledge of veterans benefits, social security, end-of-life decisions, etc.
• Builds relationships with churches, civic groups, veteran organizations, hospice, senior living, and other community groups.
• Schedules 10-12 pre-need appointments weekly and tracks in CRM.
• Responds to telephone inquiries about cemetery products and services pre-need planning.
• Attends training programs scheduled with sales leaders.

Job description

The Community Development Advisor is responsible for generating pre-need sales for locations in the assigned market area including cemetery property, cemetery merchandise, cemetery services and prearranged funeral/Cremation plans.

Responsibilities

• Actively builds relationships in the community to educate and guide families in their preplanning decisions
• Excels in his/her ability to set an appointment, give a preplanning guide presentation, and product presentation
• Provides professional park tours of each location within their area
• Completes paperwork timely, neatly and accurately, including all specific requirements for contract processing
• Actively tracks all sales activity and ratios to measure areas of strength and areas that need improvement
• Uses CRM to track all contacts and ensure professional follow-up
• Contacts new and existing customers to discuss how specific products or services can meet their needs
• Prospects daily using multiple methods including cold calling, door knocking, mailers, seminars, and outside events
• Provides world class customer service, a positive attitude, and a willingness to do “Whatever it takes”
• Keeps current in areas as they relate to our profession (veteran’s benefits, social security benefits, end of life decisions, etc.)
• Builds relationships with church’s, civic groups, veteran organizations, hospice, senior living, & other community groups. Once relationships are established, pre-planning seminars are scheduled and conducted in accordance with NorthStar Memorial Groups established program.
• Works multiple prospecting avenues such as, “web leads, Seminars, park patrolling, file reviews, direct mail, and all other prospecting methods in accordance with NorthStar’s sales playbook.
• Schedules 10-12 Pre-Need appointments each week that are tracked in the CRM.
• Answers telephone inquiries about cemetery products and services pre-need planning.
• Attends training programs scheduled with sales leaders and regional leadership.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Knowledge of current federal, state and local regulations related to the cemetery and funeral industry.
