Job summary

South Boston Community Health Center (SBCHC) seeks a Dental Hygienist to improve oral health access for the community through preventive care, education, and clinical support in a collaborative setting.

You will perform prophylaxis, periodontal maintenance, radiographs, and local anesthesia while educating patients and documenting care. You’ll mentor dental hygiene students and participate in outreach to expand access to care.

Qualifications

• Degree from an accredited Dental Hygiene program.
• Active Massachusetts Dental Hygienist License in good standing.
• Local Anesthesia Certification.
• Current CPR/BLS Certification.
• Experience providing preventive dental hygiene services and patient education.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive preventive dental care and educate patients on oral health.
• Conduct periodontal assessments and charting; obtain and evaluate radiographs.
• Administer anesthesia per licensure and protocols.
• Document assessments and treatment in the electronic health record.
• Collaborate with dentists on treatment planning and patient care.
