Job summary

NW Recruitment Services Ltd is recruiting for a Postal Collection & Delivery Worker (with driving) to support Royal Mail. You will deliver and collect mail and parcels within a defined area, starting in the local delivery office and using a handheld device for signatures.

The role involves a mix of driving and walking, with Sundays included. A full UK manual driving licence with up to 6 penalty points is essential, and customer-facing experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Delivering and collecting mail and parcels to houses and businesses within a set area; be the face of Royal Mail in your local community and work flexible hours to deliver high service levels.
• Start the day at the local delivery office and sort mail for the route.
• Complete vehicle checks; training provided, before joining a colleague in a shared van for the round.
• Use a handheld device to capture customer signatures; round typically takes about four hours.
• Route will involve a mix of driving and walking; some days you may drive to a location, walk the rest of the route, then drive back.
• Move to new delivery areas throughout the day; drive safely and park at all times before returning to the delivery office.
• We use lightweight and high capacity trollies to carry mail; driving the vehicle when needed and parking safely.
