Job summary

The City of Carson’s Parks and Recreation Division is seeking two passionate Recreation Specialist – Dance Instructors to support our Enrichment Program. This role is ideal for a dedicated dance professional with experience in tap, ballet, or performing arts who enjoys working with the community and inspiring individuals of all ages through movement and artistic expression.

The ideal candidate will have prior experience teaching or assisting in a structured dance-based program and be comfortable

Qualifications

• Completion of formal education sufficient to read and write at the level required for successful job performance.
• Knowledge of the special interest area of instruction; correct English usage.
• Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing and maintain good public relations.

Responsibilities

• Plans, organizes and instructs special interest classes or programs.
• Develops and schedules classes for various age groups.
• Prepares reports on the status of the special interest class or program as needed.
• May be assigned duties as a sports official on an urgency basis.
