Job summary

City of Seattle seeks a dynamic Crime Prevention Coordinator to join the Seattle Police Department. The role focuses on collaborating with communities and SPD personnel to reduce crime and enhance public safety. The position may be assigned across five precincts and is onsite.

The coordinator will deliver prevention training, CPTED surveys, and liaison with city departments and community groups to address ongoing safety issues and nuisance concerns.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor’s degree and 1+ year in public relations or social services or equivalent background.
• Two+ years in public relations or social services preferred.
• Experience analyzing crime incidents, preparing reports and presenting to groups.

Responsibilities

• Provide crime prevention expertise, training and support to communities to reduce crime opportunities.
• Coordinate CPTED surveys and provide recommendations for security improvements.
• Liaise with precincts, department units, and community stakeholders to address safety concerns.
