Job summary

Wavytalk is seeking a Community Intern to help grow and strengthen its online community in NYC. You’ll support our presence on TikTok and Instagram, engage with creators, and help develop prompts, memes, and engaging experiences for a fast-paced beauty brand.

The role emphasizes understanding internet culture, authentic engagement, and collaboration with a team to shape the voice and community growth. This is a for‑credit internship with a NYC MetroCard benefit and daily stipend.

Qualifications

• Currently a sophomore or junior in college
• NYC-based students preferred
• Strong understanding of TikTok and Instagram trends
• Genuine interest in internet culture, beauty, and social communities
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Proactive, creative, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment
• Able to work independently while collaborating with a broader team
• Bonus: experience managing or contributing to a TikTok, meme page, Discord, or online community

Responsibilities

• Monitor and respond to daily comments and DMs across TikTok and Instagram
• Create 5–10 engaging, timely, and on-brand comments per day
• Identify and elevate customer concerns, viral moments, and community feedback
• Engage TYB community and moderation
• Engage with 50+ creators to maintain authentic conversations
• Brainstorm and support community prompts, challenges, and engagement initiatives
• Create simple visual assets for community activities (memes, prompts, graphics)
• Coordinate weekly creator gifting initiatives
• Prepare PR mailings for creators and community members
• Support community events, local activations, and brand initiatives
• Assist with monthly programs designed to increase engagement
