Job summary

Washington State Department of Corrections (DOC) is recruiting for a full-time Community Corrections Officer 2 in the Northgate area of Seattle. The role involves supervising individuals under supervision, conducting investigations, and enforcing conditions of supervision to enhance public safety.

The position offers an in-training pathway from CCO1 to CCO2 and requires firearms handling, valid driving license, and strong communication and assessment skills. Shift 8:00–17:00, Mon–Fri.

Qualifications

• Must be able to carry and properly utilize a department-issued firearm.
• Must possess and maintain an unrestricted vehicle operator's license valid in Washington.
• Ability to work with individuals with criminal backgrounds; review graphic materials and remain objective.
• Combination options: Bachelor's degree OR an associate/technical degree OR equivalent work experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervise criminal supervised individuals (S/Is) in the community.
• Conduct investigations, searches, issue warrants, and make arrests.
• Complete intake and administer risk, needs, and substance abuse assessments.
• Maintain electronic and hardcopy files and reports.
