Job summary

Dallas County Conservation seeks an adaptable outreach and communications professional to manage public information, social media, promotions, and reservations while supporting administrative tasks in Perry, IA. This part-time role (32 hours/week) covers events, volunteer coordination, grant writing support, and customer service, with occasional evenings or weekends for special events.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1–3 years progressive work experience in Outdoor Recreation, Forestry, History, or Marketing.
• Valid State of Iowa driver's license (Class D may be required).
• Basic First Aid and CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate information about Dallas County Conservation Board (DCCB) programs and services.
• Prepare and coordinate press releases, program announcements, media interviews, newsletters.
• Edit articles written by other staff when requested.
• Coordinate the department’s social media; monitor sites and respond to questions.
• Write and/or prove grant applications.
• Coordinate the department’s volunteer program and maintain the volunteer database.
• Develop and deliver promotional presentations at public meetings and events.
• Assist in processing user fees and facility reservations.
