You will serve as the primary liaison between MOWCTX and site participants, volunteers, and partners, while enhancing programming and community connections.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in program coordination, customer service, or community engagement.
  • Experience working with older adults or in a social services setting preferred.
  • Valid Texas driver’s license, auto insurance, reliable transportation, and insurable under MOWCTX policies.
  • Bilingual English and Spanish preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of assigned congregate meal sites, ensuring safety and health regulations.
  • Coordinate meal delivery, setup, and service with kitchen and delivery teams.
  • Engage with clients to foster a welcoming and inclusive environment.
  • Plan and facilitate social, educational, and wellness activities for site participants.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers to support meal service and programming.
  • Promote volunteer engagement and retention through recognition and feedback.
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, meal counts, and volunteer hours.
  • Serve as liaison with community partners, vendors, and internal departments.
  • Monitor site inventory and request supplies as needed.
  • Respond to client concerns and elevate issues appropriately.
  • Support data collection and reporting for program evaluation and compliance.

JOB SUMMARY

The Congregate Site Coordinator is responsible for the daily operations and programming of assigned congregate meal sites. This role ensures a welcoming, safe, and engaging environment for clients, coordinates meal service logistics, and fosters community through activities and volunteer engagement. The Coordinator serves as the primary liaison between Meals on Wheels Central Texas and site participants, volunteers, and partners.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in program coordination, customer service, or community engagement
  • Experience working with older adults or in a social services setting preferred
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data entry systems

WORKPLACE ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • This role may consistently work in an office, field, or service setting
  • Requires regular use of computers and standard equipment, and communication via phone, email, and in-person is essential
  • Physical demands include prolonged periods of sitting or standing, moving within the workspace, and occasional lifting or transporting of items up to 35-50 pounds
