Job summary

Kindly Direct Care is seeking a Direct Support Professional to provide one-to-one support for an adult with developmental disabilities in Morris County. The role emphasizes companionship, community engagement, and helping the individual participate more fully in daily life. Schedule: Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays 9:00 AM–3:00 PM; Wednesdays and Thursdays 12:00 PM–5:00 PM.

Location: Rockaway, NJ 07866. Pay: $22–$24 per hour. Driving on shift is REQUIRED.

Qualifications

• Ability to work the posted schedule.
• Comfort in home and community settings.
• One-to-one support or caregiving experience is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one companionship and person-centered support.
• Help the individual participate in going out in the community, walking, and visiting parks; assist with ADLs and keeping the apartment clean.
• Support errands, appointments, recreation, volunteering, or other community activities.
• Encourage independence, communication, decision-making, self-advocacy, and life skills.
• Help the individual work toward goals identified in the service plan.
• Provide reminders, routine support, or light assistance as required by the case.
• Maintain safety and follow individualized support instructions.
• Complete required documentation and communicate reliably with the Kindly team.

This individual is looking for a consistent DSP who can provide companionship, help them get out into the community, and encourage greater independence. This is a strong fit for someone who enjoys building genuine relationships and helping another person participate more fully in everyday life.

What You’ll Do

• Provide one-to-one companionship and person-centered support.

• Help the individual participate in going out in the community, walking, and visiting parks. DSP will also assist with ADLs and keeping the apartment clean.

• Support errands, appointments, recreation, volunteering, social opportunities, or other community activities as applicable.

• Encourage independence, communication, decision-making, self-advocacy, and life skills.

• Help the individual work toward goals identified in the service plan.

• Provide reminders, routine support, or light assistance as required by the case.

• Maintain safety and follow individualized support instructions.

• Complete required documentation and communicate reliably with the Kindly team.

What We’re Looking For

• Warm, patient, dependable, and genuinely interested in building a consistent relationship.

• Comfortable supporting an adult one-to-one in home and community settings.

• DSP, mentoring, education, recreation, human services, or caregiving experience is helpful but may not be required for this assignment.
