Job summary

Stantec’s Gulf Water group in Tallahassee is seeking a full-time Resilience Planner to support forward-looking resilience plans, hazard mitigation, and climate adaptation efforts. You will apply your knowledge of planning and regulations to help communities reduce vulnerability and build resilience.

The role emphasizes data analysis, stakeholder engagement, GIS mapping, and producing clear deliverables through project lifecycles, with a focus on client satisfaction and profitable project

Responsibilities

• Collect and analyze data to support delivery of community resilience planning efforts including, but not limited to hazard mitigation planning, climate adaptation planning, risk assessments, disaster resilience and recovery, and urban/regional planning
• Assist with the drafting of clear and compelling plans, reports, and other deliverables through creative and technical writing, document management, research, and assessment
• Conduct vulnerability, sensitivity, adaptation and risk and resilience analyses using state of the art tools and spreadsheets.
• Develop graphics and maps using GIS to support narrative information
• Support public and stakeholder outreach and engagement efforts using a range of techniques to promote inclusive engagement (e.g., presentations, charettes, workshops, surveys, canvassing, etc.)
• Research and advise on community resilience planning best practices, standards, and guidance
• Interact with and develop excellent relations with clients and stakeholders
• Be an active member of the team and passionate about the mission of reducing the impacts of disasters and climate change
