Job summary

The City of Alexandria is seeking a Sustainability Coordinator to advance the Environmental Action Plan 2040 and the Energy and Climate Change Action Plan. This community-facing role works across departments to develop and manage programs promoting voluntary actions by residents and businesses.

You will engage with the public, manage grants, contribute to the Eco-City website, and track progress toward greenhouse gas reduction goals while supporting campaigns like Eco-City Homes and Eco-City

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of professional environmental experience.
• Experience communicating environmental concepts to diverse communities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage programs to encourage voluntary actions by residents and businesses that help meet climate goals.
• Coordinate across City departments to implement Environmental Action Plan 2040.
• Assist with development of Eco-City website and dashboard; track and report progress.
