Job summary

Bartholomew County Public Library seeks a collaborative Library Director to lead BCPL’s 58,000-square-foot Main Library, two branches, and outreach services in Columbus, IN. The successful candidate will advance strategic priorities, steward finances, and build partnerships with staff and the community.

Requirements include an MLS from an ALA-accredited program, Indiana Librarian Certificate 1, and at least six years of professional library experience with three in a supervisory role.

Qualifications

• MLS from an ALA-accredited library school.
• Qualification for an Indiana Librarian Certificate 1 is required.
• Six years of professional library work experience including three years of administrative responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic, financial, administrative, and operational leadership for BCPL; oversee budgeting, personnel, facilities, collections, technology, outreach, and service planning.
• Represent BCPL to the community and profession; develop grants and partnerships; lead a broad management team.
