Job summary

The Salvation Army Maplewood Corps and Community Center in Maplewood, Missouri is seeking a part-time Community Center Program Aide to assist in daily operations of childcare programs. The role supports the mission and complies with organizational policies and state and local guidelines.

Responsibilities include supervising volunteers, creating a safe, fun, educational environment for children, coordinating activities, and maintaining attendance and program records.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• 2 years' work experience with childcare or related field.
• Good communication skills and ability to work with diverse cultures.
• Able to read and write well.
• Requires basic verbal communications with children and other employees.
• Valid driver's license (including E license) to transport children.
• Must be certified by ARC in CPR and First Aid.

Job description

The Salvation Army Maplewood Corps and Community Center located in Maplewood, Missouri, is looking for a Community Center Aide.This position is expected to advance and support the Mission of The Salvation Army. Position is expected to comply with and meet The Salvation Army, Federal, State and Local policies, and standards.

The Community Center Program Aide will be directly responsible to assist in the day-to-day operations of the Community center programs as assigned.

This is a part-time position, 19 hours per week, with starting pay of $15.00 per hour.

Community Center Program Aide – Essential Functions

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma, previous 2 years' work experience with childcare or related field. Good communication skills and ability to work with diverse cultures. Able to read and write well. Requires basic verbal communications with children and other employees. Valid drivers’ license (including E license to transport children) and pass TSA MVR is a plus. Must be certified by American Red Cross (ARC) in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and First Aid.

Physical and Working Conditions

Must be capable of performing the above essential duties and be able to lift a 40-pound child. Most work will be indoors in a temperature-controlled environment. Some work will be outdoors where it will be hot in the summer.
