Job summary

The Battle Creek VA Medical Center is actively recruiting a Registered Nurse to join Community Care Service. The RN will provide skilled nursing care, coordinate with care teams, and support patient and family education in a VA setting.

Candidates must have an approved nursing education program and state licensure, with pathways for bridge programs and potential temporary appointments until licensure is completed. Expect a comprehensive VA rewards package.

Qualifications

• English language proficiency is required for direct patient care.
• Nurse must graduate from an approved nursing program (ADN, diploma, or BSN) and be eligible for licensure.
• May include bridge program pathways for nursing licensure.
• Foreign nurse graduates must have valid, unrestricted licensure and credential validation.

Responsibilities

• Independently plans and delivers technically competent nursing care.
• Recognizes changes in patient condition and responds appropriately.
• Assigns tasks to unit staff and coordinates care delivery.
• Develops and documents the patient care plan and goals.
• Involves patient and family in discharge planning and education.
• Maintains accurate nursing documentation and follows ANA standards.
