Job summary

YMCA of South Hampton Roads is seeking a Part-time Café Attendant to support The Block community café. You will provide friendly service, prepare food and beverages, and help maintain a welcoming space for members and guests.

This role supports teens in the café workforce development program and models teamwork, professionalism, and YMCA core values while ensuring safety and quality in daily operations. Flexible hours including evenings and weekends; competitive hourly pay with benefits

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in food service, hospitality, or customer service preferred.
• CPR/First Aid certifications required within 30 days of hire, provided by the YMCA.
• ServSafe or Food Manager Certification (or willingness to obtain).

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve food and beverages per café standards.
• Operate the POS system and process cash and card transactions.
• Assist with opening and closing procedures as assigned.
• Support teens participating in the café workforce development program.
• Maintain the café workspace, equipment, and dining areas to ensure safety and cleanliness.
