Job summary

Collaborative Support Programs in Salem County, NJ seeks a Housing Supports Worker to provide pre-tenancy and tenancy-sustaining services, helping individuals secure and maintain stable housing and develop independent living skills. A substantial portion of time is spent in the community, with a focus on budgeting, daily living activities, and self-advocacy.

The role requires strong communication, patience, and trauma-informed approaches, plus a valid NJ driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a mental health related discipline preferred; alternatively, a high school diploma with 3+ years of related work/ lived experience.
• MUST complete a 7-year background check and fingerprinting as a condition of employment.
• Prepare clear, concise, timely, and accurate billable progress notes per clinical and regulatory requirements.
• Carry out essential domestic responsibilities in support of daily living.
• Strong communication skills that promote collaboration and positive relationships.
• Patience and emotional resilience are essential.
• Remain calm under pressure, exercise sound judgment, and adapt to changing situations.
• Prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and support multiple residents.
• Proficient in MS Office and general computer literacy.
• Engage and support individuals with mental health diagnoses with empathy and trauma-informed approaches.
• Bilingual skills are a plus.
• Must have a valid NJ Driver’s License with acceptable driving record.
• Lived experience values emphasized by CSPNJ.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a caseload of 25-30 persons served.
• Document observations and services through progress notes and required documentation.
• Assess daily living skills and provide instruction in budgeting, cooking, laundry, cleaning, shopping, personal hygiene, and self-advocacy.
• Monitor resident property conditions and address safety, maintenance, or compliance concerns.
