TITLE: Community Banker Supervisor

JOB FAMILY: Community Bankers

DEPARTMENT: Retail Banking

Job Summary

The Community Banker Supervisor is responsible for oversight of the daily operations of the Community Bankers, ensuring that excellent service is provided to clients. Responsible for supervising, training, and developing the Community Bankers as well as provide support to the Assistant or Branch Manager.

Essential Functions

  • Coordinate operational duties and daily functions for the Community Bankers and assist team members with complex transactions and provides solutions.
  • Lead and deliver new hire training and provide ongoing needs analysis for future development and training opportunities.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of operational procedures, educate staff, and ensure procedures and protocols are followed consistently.
  • Approve unusual or large dollar amount transactions.
  • Provide reliable and timely service to all clients according to regulatory and compliance protocols, including guidance on financial products and services that will meet their needs.
  • Maintain proper levels of coin and currency in the vault and deliver education and training regarding vault procedures.
  • Monitor teller cash reconcilement to verify employee teller balances; determine appropriate adjustments as necessary and maintain records of teller variances and proof errors.
  • Ensure all transactions are properly documented and recorded, determine authenticity and validity of documents, and follow established procedures in all areas of security including proper robbery procedures and customer confidentiality.
  • Complete additional transactions, including, but not limited to, issuing cashier’s checks, traveler’s checks, certified checks, redeem EE Bonds, and money orders, stop payment orders and change orders; processing and issuing receipts on items left for collection, night drop and mail deposits.
  • Balance the ATM machine and maintain the proper levels of currency.
  • Responsible for balancing coin machine.
  • Promote products and services to retail customers and refer customers to appropriate areas for additional information.
  • Coach and train Community Bankers on cross selling opportunities.
  • Complete timely branch audits.
  • Prepare various reports for Retail Leadership.
  • May create and maintain the schedule to ensure sufficient staff coverage.
  • Hire, develop, motivate, and train staff, including planning and delegating work assignments and projects.
  • Evaluate performance, administer quarterly touch points, and deliver performance evaluations.
  • Establish clear expectations and hold team members accountable to performance and behaviors aligned with our culture.
  • Understand and administer compensation based on a pay for performance philosophy, including merit increases and variable pay.
  • Comply with all company or regulatory policies, procedures and requirements that are applicable to this position.
  • Participate in community engagement events. This can include professional, civic and community groups.
  • Foster and preserve a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Additional duties and responsibilities may be required to support the company’s mission and vision.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Two years’ experience in banking, client service, or related field with cash handling experience.
  • One-year supervisory experience or previous leadership experience.
  • Strong ability to set clear expectations and holding team members accountable to performance and behavior aligned with our culture.
  • Capability to perform data entry utilizing banking software and Microsoft 365 products, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrates strong decision making & critical thinking skills, as well as strong interpersonal and written communication capabilities.
  • Capability to prioritize and execute a variety of tasks simultaneously, at times in a demanding environment.

Working Conditions

  • Duties are performed in a professional office environment.
  • Requires travel to other branch or client locations.
  • Availability to work on Saturdays.
  • Extended periods of standing and ability to lift fifty pounds.

Salary And Benefits

The minimum hourly wage for this position is $22.00 per hour. The actual wage will be based on qualifications and business needs and may vary, as permitted by applicable state law.

This position is a regular full-time position, and individuals employed as regular full-time, are eligible for the following benefits subject to the terms, limitations and conditions of each benefit plan: Health, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Disability Insurance, FSA, HSA, 401K, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, Paid Time Off, Paid Holidays and additional Voluntary Supplemental Insurance.
