Job description

Resident is a shared workspace for companies that care who they work alongside. Coworking promised community but delivered random strangers sharing Wi‑Fi, so we built a Company Club instead. We don't sell day passes, and every member company is vetted for fit, so the founders, AI startups, and high-performing teams you say hi to in the kitchen today will still be there next week.

Behind that experience is a small team that runs on service and common sense. We know every member's name (and their birthday), skip the corporate policies, and make decisions that make sense for members. Joining us means getting in early at a profitable, fast‑growing company led by a founder with a previous exit, where your ideas shape how every space feels and works.

About the Role

We’re looking for a social, sharp, and resourceful professional to become the heartbeat of our space. Someone who’s not afraid to get their hands dirty, solve unexpected problems on the fly, and make every member feel like a VIP. If you come from the hospitality world or you just get people and love making them feel seen and supported, you’ll fit right in.

This isn’t a behind‑the‑desk job. You’ll be actively walking the floor, greeting members, running tours, hosting events, and orchestrating experiences that turn great spaces into unforgettable communities.

What You’ll do
  • Help create a warm, welcoming atmosphere and become a familiar face every member looks forward to seeing
  • Greet and say goodbye to every member each day
  • Learn about our residents beyond just names and companies: their interests, quirks, goals, and pet peeves
  • Spot introduction opportunities and help connect like‑minded members
  • Keep member profiles in our CRM detailed and up to date to support a hyper‑personalized experience
  • Prepare welcome packets and help guide new members through onboarding
  • Help plan and run events, member appreciation gestures, and the ongoing \"magic touches\" that make the space feel alive
  • Be a go‑to person for questions, quick fixes, and random needs (need a phone charger? you've got it)
  • Respond to and resolve incoming requests through our help desk system
  • Keep the space stocked, tidy, and ready before the first member walks in
  • Encourage thoughtful coworking etiquette in creative, non‑cheesy ways
  • Post daily optimism prompts and conversation starters to spark community energy
  • Run engaging, high‑touch tours that feel more like consultations than sales pitches
  • Offer guests coffee, tea, and even a little chocolate; it's the small things that matter
  • Put together curated swag bags and leave prospects feeling taken care of
  • Understand people's business needs and help figure out how we can best support them
Who You Are
  • 2–4 years of experience in community or hospitality roles (optional)
  • Charismatic and people‑obsessed; you remember names, faces, and coffee orders
  • Exceptionally organized and resourceful under pressure
  • A creative problem solver who thrives in early‑stage environments
  • Obsessed with service, but not in a scripted way; you're natural, thoughtful, and warm
  • Hungry to grow, learn, and take on more responsibility over time
  • Coachable; you take feedback well and act on it fast
  • Comfortable wearing many hats (and doing things that aren't in your "job description")
Why Join Us
  • You’ll join early in a fast‑growing, high‑ambition company
  • You’ll learn hands‑on from our Community Manager and work alongside our Founder & CEO
  • You’ll have a real path to grow into our founder and Head of Community
  • Your ideas will matter and will be implemented
  • You’ll build real relationships with top founders in NYC
