Operations Manager Role

Operations Managers are responsible for end-to-end business process activities—creating, controlling, and improving business processes. They lead process design and project implementation teams in process improvement activities, diagnose process improvement opportunities, and develop solutions using principles of process excellence and related tools. This role also involves quality reporting, analysis, audits, and developing plans for continuous quality improvement, including supporting Quality Improvement programs. Additionally, they may oversee the design, facilitation, training, and evaluation of incentive programs and oversee quality improvement projects and teams.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Create, control, and improve end-to-end business processes.
  2. Lead process design and project implementation teams in process improvement activities.
  3. Develop quality reports, analyses, and audits to support continuous improvement.
  4. Assist in the creation, implementation, and evaluation of Quality Improvement programs and work plans.
  5. Maintain NCQA accreditation compliance with staff.
  6. Track compliance of subcontractors and delegated entities in coordination with the Compliance team.
  7. Ensure QM committee requirements meet NCQA standards.
  8. Review work of others and develop innovative approaches.
  9. Serve as an expert and mentor within the team.

This role requires adaptability in a fluid environment, with a focus on quality reporting, analysis, audits, and stakeholder engagement. Success depends on gaining buy-in from multiple stakeholders and presenting solutions to senior leadership. The position offers recognition, development opportunities, and a supportive environment.

Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years in writing business/system requirements and business/finance analysis.
  • 4+ years with MS Project, Access, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Visio.
  • 3+ years documenting processes and practices, often using project methodology artifacts.
  • Experience as a team or project lead.
  • Experience with Georgia Medicaid and NCQA accreditation.
  • Experience in the healthcare industry.

*Remote work is permitted in Georgia, subject to UnitedHealth Group's Telecommuter Policy.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range is $106,800 to $194,200 annually, based on full-time employment and factors such as location, education, experience, and certifications. Benefits include health coverage, incentive programs, equity stock purchase, and 401(k) contributions, among others.
