Job summary

Listening Ear is seeking a dedicated LEA Consumer Support Worker in Ionia, MI to help adults with developmental or intellectual disabilities participate in community activities. The position requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and good driving record.
• Ability to respond to emergency situations in a controlled manner.
• Empathy, patience, and cultural sensitivity when working with adults with developmental disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Engage with consumers and staff to identify and implement activities under the consumer’s Plan.
• Transport consumers to and from scheduled activities in a timely manner.
• Complete and deliver all required documentation related to consumer services.
• Attend mandatory trainings and skill development programs including refresher trainings.
• Report punctually to work and stay with the consumer for the duration of the activity.
