Job summary

Quadrant, Inc. is seeking a Communications Watch Officer to support mission-critical Pentagon communications. The role involves monitoring systems, coordinating with network operators, and ensuring rapid restoration of service during outages.

The position requires TS/SCI and NC2 indoctrination, DoD 8570 IAT II certification, and 5+ years of DoD IT experience. Swing shift, Sundays to Thursdays, 1pm-9pm, located at the Pentagon, VA.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years supporting military or DoD IT systems.
• Experience with networks, incident management and troubleshooting in mission-critical environments.
• Ability to coordinate with multiple teams and executives during outages.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage mission-critical communications systems and network operations.
• Coordinate with operators and technical teams to rapidly restore service.
• Track, prioritize and elevate incidents for timely resolution.
• Oversee maintenance, upgrades, cutovers and network changes with minimal impact.
• Provide status updates to stakeholders during outages or incidents.
• Support contingency operations and emergency response activities.

Communications Watch Officer

Pentagon, VA (Swing shift/ Sunday - Thursday, Hours: 1pm - 9pm)

Pay From: $80,000 per year

MUST:

• Communications Watch Officer


• TS/SCI and NC2 indoctrination


• CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification


• 5+ years of experience supporting military or Department of Defense IT systems.


• Experience with systems engineering, network operations, incident management, and troubleshooting complex communications environments.


• Strong analytical and decision‑making skills in mission‑critical environments


• Experience with project planning, resourcing, supply, progress reporting, troubleshooting, and NMCC team management to achieve desired / customer results.


• Experience supporting the NMCC in the Pentagon (Preferred)

DUTIES:

• Monitor and manage mission‑critical communications systems and network operations.


• Coordinate with network operators, communications nodes, and technical teams to rapidly restore service interruptions.


• Track, prioritize, and elevate incidents while ensuring timely resolution and system availability.


• Oversee scheduled maintenance, upgrades, cutovers, and network changes with minimal operational impact.


• Validate connectivity between senior government leadership, combatant commands, and national security partners.


• Support secure communications systems including AMHS, Secure Video systems, and Defense Red Switch Network capabilities.


• Monitor warning systems, situational awareness tools, and command‑and‑control communications infrastructure.


• Troubleshoot complex LAN, MAN, and WAN network issues and recommend technical solutions.


• Provide operational status updates and brief stakeholders during outages, maintenance events, or mission‑impacting incidents.


• Support contingency operations, exercises, continuity planning, and emergency response activities
