Job summary

S2i2, Inc invites a Cybersecurity Engineer to provide advanced information assurance and security engineering across the full system lifecycle at the Defense Logistics Agency. This on-site role requires a TS clearance and collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure secure network architectures in line with DoD policies.

Minimum 7+ years in IT with cybersecurity responsibilities, DoD 8570/8140 CND-IS certs, and DoD IAT Level III baseline certs are required.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of IT experience with cybersecurity/ information assurance responsibilities.
• Government/federal environment experience preferred (DoD/IC).
• DoD 8570 / 8140 CND-IS certification required (e.g., CISSP, CISA, GCIH).
• DoD-approved 8570 baseline certification at IAT Level III (e.g., CASP+ CE, CCNP Security).
• Active Top Secret clearance with favorable NACLC and IT-I eligibility.

Job description

Clearance: Active Top Secret (TS) with favorable NACLC eligibility Work Schedule: On-site, 5 days/week. Position Overview: The Cybersecurity Engineer provides advanced technical and analytical support for specialized information assurance and cybersecurity initiatives at the Defense Logistics Agency. This position delivers comprehensive security engineering throughout the entire system lifecycle-including planning, design, development, testing, demonstration, and integration-and partners with cross-functional teams to ensure secure and compliant network and system architectures aligned with Department of Defense cybersecurity policies.

Core Responsibilities

• Execute technical and analytical tasks supporting specialized information assurance and cybersecurity projects.
• Integrate electronic processes and methodologies to identify, analyze, and resolve system-level and technology-based information assurance challenges.
• Analyze and interpret information security requirements to ensure compliance with DoD and organizational cybersecurity policies, standards, and best practices.
• Apply data-driven, systematic approaches to optimize workflows, organizational structure, and planning for cybersecurity operations.
• Deliver security engineering support at all stages of the system lifecycle, from initial planning and design through development, testing, and integration.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the secure and compliant implementation of network and system architectures.
• Recommend and implement advanced security measures and controls to safeguard information systems against unauthorized access or misuse.
• Support continuous monitoring and risk management activities to maintain secure, resilient system configurations.

Qualifications Required

• Minimum of seven (7) years of relevant IT experience, including demonstrated cybersecurity or information assurance engineering responsibilities.
• Proven experience supporting government agencies, customers, or contracts within federal environments (e.g., Intelligence Community, Department of Defense, federal civil agencies, or military organizations).
• DoD 8570 / 8140 CND-IS certification required (ex., CEH, CFR, GCIA, or GCIH).
• Computing environment certification required: F5 Certified Technology Specialist, BIG‑IP ASM (F5-CTS ASM).
• DoD-approved 8570 baseline certification at IAT Level III (ex., CASP+ CE, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP or CISSP Associate, GCED, GCIH, or CCSP).
• Active Top Secret clearance with favorable NACLC and eligibility for IT-I (Tier 5 / SSBI) Critical‑Sensitive clearance.

Desired Qualifications

• Prior experience supporting similar contracts, with in-depth understanding of customer environments, requirements, and operational landscapes.
• Hands‑on experience with BIG‑IP ASM policy engineering, including policy creation, tuning, and production operations in blocking mode.
• Experience working in a DLA environment, especially DLA Land and Maritime, DLA Aviation, or DLA J6.

Salary
