Job summary

Wahpeton Public School District is seeking an Communications Support for the Athletics/Activities/Activity Sponsor role. It is an internal position with a $6,000 stipend ( prorated ) for a 12-month term starting October 1, 2026.

The incumbent reports to the Superintendent and duties include managing social media, newsletters, and district communications. Open to Wahpeton Public School District employees, certified or classified, with a focus on discretion, meeting deadlines, and strong writing.

Qualifications

• Clear, accurate writing and attention to detail.
• Working knowledge of social media platforms and website content management.
• Discretion - this position sees student, staff, and District information before it is public.
• Ability to meet deadlines during the school day and at events outside of it.

Responsibilities

• Manage district social media accounts and post on a consistent schedule.
• Produce a District newsletter, pulling content from all four buildings.
• Maintain content on district digital signage (TV displays).
• Maintain the district communications calendar.
• Support website content accuracy alongside the Technology/SIS Administrator.
• Assist the Superintendent in distributing time-sensitive and crisis communications.
• Maintain the district's registry of official and team/activity social media accounts.
• Apply the district's content standards and confirm the current student directory-information opt-out list before publishing content.
• Track basic engagement and report on what is reaching families and what is not.
