We are hiring immediately for a FULL-TIME Communications Specialist/Dispatcher position located in New York, NY.

Job Overview

We’re seeking Communications Specialists/Dispatchers to handle critical medical transportation requests and communicate with medical crews. Candidates must work well under pressure, maintain focus during flights, and be proficient with radios, information systems, and related equipment in the Air Medical Communications Center.

Responsibilities
  • Promptly and professionally meet customer needs with courtesy and respect.
  • Serve as a resource for program partners.
  • Maintain excellent telephone etiquette and communication skills.
  • Relays flight requests quickly and accurately.
  • Participate in ongoing staff development and stay updated on industry knowledge.
  • Prioritize safety for patients and crew.
  • Initiate post-accident incident plans when necessary.
  • Use clear, concise radio communication following FCC regulations.
  • Represent Flight Com professionally to internal and external contacts.
  • Collaborate with operational, maintenance, aviation, and program staff for efficient dispatch and flight following.
  • Follow policies and ensure data accuracy and integrity.
  • Stay informed about disaster response procedures and participate in drills.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience in dispatch, customer service, EMS, or related fields.
  • Certifications: NAACS, IAMTCS, Emergency Medical Dispatch, EMT-B or Paramedic.
  • Proficiency with dispatch software.
  • Strong customer service and professionalism.
  • At least 2 years of EMS/911/Aviation dispatching or healthcare work experience, or equivalent customer service experience.
  • Ability to remain calm under stress and adapt to changing demands.
