Job summary

Western Cooperative Electric in WaKeeney, KS is seeking a Communications Specialist to help tell our story to members, employees, and the communities we serve. The role covers writing/editing, social media, website content, graphic design, photography, and video production.

You’ll also handle media relations, outage communications, and community events, including member education and our Annual Meeting. The position is open until filled and benefits include health, vacation, a 401(k), and life

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism, PR, graphic design, or a related field (related experience may substitute).
• Two or more years of related experience preferred.
• Strong writing skills; familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, and social media is a plus.

Western Cooperative Electric is looking for a Communications Specialist to join our team in WaKeeney, KS! This is a newly created position, givingyou the opportunity to help shape the role from the ground up.

In this role, you’ll help share Western’s story with members, employees, and the communities we serve through:

• Writing and editing, including our Kansas Country Living pages
• Social media and website content
• Graphic design, photography, and video
• Media relations and outage/emergency communications
• Community events, member education, and our Annual Meeting

What we’re looking for:

• A bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism, PR, graphic design, or a related field (related experience may substitute)
