A global life sciences organisation is seeking a Communications Specialist to support internal communications at its Portsmouth site. The role will focus on creating and publishing internal content, managing intranet communications, supporting employee engagement initiatives, and ensuring messaging is clear, consistent and aligned with corporate standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, format and publish internal communications across intranet, newsletters and digital signage.
- Maintain and update the Portsmouth site intranet to ensure information is accurate, current and engaging.
- Proofread and copyedit communications materials for clarity, consistency, grammar and brand alignment.
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders and the Communications Manager to coordinate and finalise content.
- Support internal communications campaigns and site initiatives, including employee engagement activities, volunteer events and site assemblies.
- Help communicate corporate goals, priorities and updates to the local site.
- Collaborate with the broader communications and administration team on operational activities and business priorities.
- Manage multiple communications projects and deliver high-quality work within deadlines.
Requirements
- 2-4 years of experience in communications, internal marketing or a related field.
- Strong written communication, proofreading and copyediting skills.
- High attention to detail and strong understanding of grammar and written style.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Word and PowerPoint.
- Familiarity with SharePoint, intranet platforms or content management systems (CMS).
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills with a customer-service mindset.
- Ability to work independently and effectively within a team.
- Associate's or bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
