Job summary

Mercedes-Benz U.S. International, Inc. is seeking a Communications Specialist to coordinate and implement communications that inform, educate, and motivate, while building a positive image for MBUSI, its Team Members, and external audiences.

The role involves developing strategic communications, maintaining an editorial calendar, and coordinating content for digital, print, video, and social media channels. You’ll assist with media relations, speechwriting, events, and videography.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or related area, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience with digital platforms and social media style writing is required.
• Video editing, graphic design skills, and proficiency with Adobe software are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop strategic communications; maintain editorial calendar and coordinate content for multiple channels (e.g. Digital, print, video, social media).
• Assist in media relations and public speaking, speechwriting, and development of key message documents.
• Support and/or organize events.
• Monitor MBUSI and industry trends; report on newsworthy items; interview Team Members and leadership.
• Assist in video production and photography.

Purpose of the Position:

Under general supervision, this position will coordinate and implement communications that inform, educate and motivate, as well as create a positive image for MBUSI, its' Team Members and, in some cases, external audiences.

Essential Functions:

• Develop strategic communications; maintain editorial calendar and coordinate content for multiple channels (e.g. Digital, print, video, social media). Assist in video production and photography.
• Support with media relations and public speaking, speechwriting, development of key message documents and perform daily tasks related to supporting communications within the organization.
• Supporting and/or organizing events.
• Keep abreast of MBUSI, Mercedes-Benz, industry and competitive trends; Report on newsworthy items and opportunities; Interview Team Members and leadership on variety of topics.
• Assist in video production and photography.

Perform safe work practices and participate in trainings and safety programs in a positive and proactive way by following safety rules, procedures, regulations, standards and laws. Report all unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, and injuries to management, including your supervisor, or the Safety Department. Work safely 100% of the time.
Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS: Education, Experience and Necessary Skills all must be met in order to qualify for position.

Experience

Bachelor’s degree inMarketing, Communication, Journalism, or in a related area, and/or the equivalent combination of education and experience.

Entry Level: Co-op/internship and/or up to 2 years of relevant professional experience.
Experienced Level: A minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience.
Senior Level: A minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience.

Necessary Skills, Certifications, etc.:

Experience with digital platforms, social media style writing, video editing, graphic design skills. Proficiency with Adobe Photoshop, Premiere, InDesign, Illustrator / Photography and videography
