Job summary

Sentry Insurance Company is seeking a Communications Specialist to operationalize corporate communications and coach senior leaders on strategic issues. You will define work plans, manage campaigns and events, and provide expert advisement while building relationships across the organization.

The role emphasizes collaboration with leadership, external communications components, and change management to move stakeholders toward future state. Hybrid work options are available.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years related work experience.
  • Experience delivering customer-driven solutions, support or service.
  • Experience coaching and advising senior leaders, including on external/news media communications.
  • Experience developing and managing internal communication plans and strategies.
  • Experience implementing communication strategies with external components.
  • Extensive knowledge of communication tools (intranet, social media, video).
  • Strong change management principles applied to communications.

Job description

Our Communications Specialists are responsible for the operational implementation of corporate communications.

What You'll Do

Work collaboratively with and provide communications coaching for strategic leadership team members.

Direct communications support for assigned senior leadership, provides direct support to senior leaders on strategic issues.

Respond to unexpected communication needs with calm and professionalism that produces results.

Define work plans to organize the communications, campaigns, projects or events into tasks; estimating time, budget and resources needed.

Serve as a subject matter expert by providing advisement, coaching and feedback to fellow team members.

Build and maintain relationships with key leaders, business partners, internal departments, etc.

What it Takes

Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience.

Minimum of 5 years related work experience.

Demonstrated experience providing customer driven solutions, support or service.

Demonstrated experience coaching and advising senior leaders, including on external/news media communications.

Demonstrated experience developing and managing internal communication plans and strategies, identifying issues and risks that may impact strategies.

Demonstrated experience developing and implementing communication strategies, including those with external communications components.

Extensive knowledge and understanding of communication tools, including intranet, social media, video, etc.

Solid knowledge and understanding of change management principles and their application to communications to move audiences from current state to future state.

Strong organizational skills with consistent delivery on commitments.
