SRP Federal Credit Union is seeking a Communications & Public Relations Specialist to support development and execution of communication strategies that strengthen member and ambassador relationships and advance SRP's goals.

You will collaborate with Marketing and Communications to align messaging, storytelling, and brand communications across internal and external channels, creating a unified member experience in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or related field required.
  • 3-5 years of communications, marketing, public relations, or media relations experience required.
  • Financial services, nonprofit, or member-focused industry experience preferred.
  • Experience creating and executing communication campaigns across multiple channels.

Responsibilities

  • Develop communication plans, create content, support strategic initiatives, and strengthen brand awareness.
  • External communications & media relations: draft press releases, coordinate media inquiries, support event communications and stakeholder relationships.
  • Internal communications: create newsletters, announcements, recognition communications, and maintain channels and calendars.
  • Community & member engagement: support outreach programs, partnerships, and member-focused communications.
  • Project coordination & vendor support: coordinate projects, timelines, vendors, and communication assets.
  • Compliance & risk management: ensure regulatory compliance, brand consistency, and communication accuracy.
  • Member service: promote credit union products and services using a member-benefit-based approach.
  • Comply with policies including the BSA, USA PATRIOT Act, and OFAC requirements.

Communications & Public Relations Specialist

Position Summary

The Communications & Public Relations Specialist is responsible for supporting the development and execution of communication strategies that enhance the credit union's brand, strengthen member and ambassador (employee) relationships, and support SRP's organizational goals. Working closely with the Marketing and Communications team, this role ensures that messaging, storytelling, and brand communications align with marketing initiatives to create a unified and impactful member experience. The Communications Specialist supports internal and external communications, media relations, digital communications, and community engagement efforts while ensuring consistent, mission-driven messaging. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional communication skills, creativity, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple communication initiatives in a fast-paced environment.


Schedule

Hours may vary based on departmental needs and community events. Occasional early mornings, evenings, and Saturdays may be required.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities
