Job summary

Apex Systems is seeking a Network Communications Engineer for on-site work at Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, DC. The role requires a DoD Secret clearance, Security+ CE, CCNA (or ability to obtain within 6 months), and extensive LAN/WAN administration experience.

Core duties include evaluating network hardware/software, administering LAN/BAN/WANs, scheduling conversions, and coordinating with users across sites. This is a long-term contract with federal holidays and sick leave accrual.

Qualifications

• Active, DoD-issued Secret security clearance.
• CompTIA Security+ CE Certification.
• CCNA OR ability to obtain within the first 6 months of employment.
• 8 years of relevant experience (education can be used in lieu of experience – Masters and 2 years, Bachelors and 4 years, Associates and 6 years)

• Evaluate communication hardware and software, and troubleshoot LAN/BAN/WAN and other network problems.
• Administer LAN/BAN/WANs.
• Schedule conversions and cutovers.
• Coordinate with all responsible users and sites.
• Specialized experience in performance and configuration of large-scale computer integrated networks.
