Job Description - COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER‑HSOM (T237182)
To manage the daily duties for content creation and specific communications projects, such as executive communications, editorial content, and social media for the Heersink School of Medicine or a department/center. The role may also include supervising a program or staff member/intern and ensuring the implementation and success of communications projects. The communications manager will execute communications strategy and projects in alignment with the university’s external and internal strategy, develop targeted written content for specific school, department, or center audiences, set best practices and processes, and operate as a resource by conducting trainings for other SOM communicators. Collaboration with Heersink School of Medicine leadership, University Relations, and UAB Health System marketing to amplify and strengthen employee engagement, culture, and values is essential. The holder will manage content workflow and processes.
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, Journalism, or a related field and four (4) years of related experience are required. Work experience may NOT substitute for the education requirement.
Salary Range: $52,555 - $85,400
