Job summary

Puget Sound Educational Service District seeks a Communications Manager to lead the communications team, plan and coordinate projects, and direct creative production across graphics, video, and photography. The role emphasizes accessibility, multilingual outreach, and fee-for-service collaborations with school districts.

You will manage intake, timelines, budgets, and reporting to ensure on-time, within-scope results aligned with agency goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, marketing, journalism, graphic design, digital media, or a closely related field, or an Associate degree combined with equivalent directly related professional experience.
• Progressively responsible professional experience developing and implementing strategic communications, marketing, public information, or related communications initiatives.
• Experience planning, organizing, and managing multiple communications projects with competing priorities while meeting timelines and objectives.
• Experience creating and editing communications across multiple formats including websites, publications, social media, presentations, newsletters, video, graphic design, or other digital and print media.
• Knowledge of digital accessibility principles and experience developing or reviewing communications that support accessibility and equitable access for diverse audiences.
• CPACC certification, or equivalent accessibility credential, or ability to obtain within twelve months.

Responsibilities

• Designs and leads communications initiatives to support Puget Sound ESD programs and services for internal and external audiences.
• Oversees accessibility reviews and remediation across digital assets and publications to ensure compliance and inclusive access.
• Develops and implements communications plans with target audiences, channels, timelines, and success metrics.
• Maintains design standards, templates, and style guides to ensure brand consistency and accessibility across materials.
• Guides and coordinates multilingual communications projects and translation workflows to serve diverse communities.
• Supervises communications staff and provides coaching to build high-performing teams.
