Job summary

The Equus Group seeks a Communications Manager to lead its internal and external communications function. You will guide content strategy, editorial standards, and cross‑functional workflows while partnering with senior leadership to translate strategic priorities into clear, effective communications.

You will oversee the communications calendar, drive consistency, and ensure timely execution. The role requires strong writing, stakeholder management, and a track record of delivering high‑quality

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of progressive communications and project management experience in a corporate setting
  • Experience managing internal and external communications programs
  • Experience leading and developing a team
  • Experience supporting senior executives and organizational change initiatives
  • Strong writing, editing, verbal communication, and executive presentation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and cross-functional initiatives in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

  • Lead the day-to-day operations of the communications team, including project prioritization, workflow management, and staff development
  • Oversee content strategy, editorial standards, and communications across internal and external channels
  • Serve as a key point of contact for senior leadership, content authors, and cross-functional partners, translating strategic goals into actionable communication plans
  • Own and maintain the organizational communications calendar, determining priorities, timing, and the most effective channels for delivery
  • Establish and improve processes and workflows to streamline content creation, reduce editing cycles, and strengthen cross-functional collaboration
  • Develop strategic messaging and copy for campaigns, events, standardized communications, and other organizational initiatives
  • Oversee brand standards and provide direction on visual communications, presentation design, and graphic design initiatives
  • Partner with internal stakeholders on executive communications and presentation development
  • Collaborate with the Data Insights & Analytics team to monitor communication performance and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Oversee governance, enhancements, and user access across key communications platforms
  • Stay informed of emerging communications trends, best practices, and technologies and identify opportunities to enhance the organization's approach

We are partnering with a highly respected professional organization to identify a Communications Manager to lead and oversee its internal and external communications function.

This is a highly visible opportunity for an experienced communications professional who enjoys bringing structure to complex initiatives while balancing strategy and execution. The Communications Manager will lead a cross-functional team and oversee content strategy, editorial standards, communication workflows, and key platforms. This individual will work closely with senior leadership and stakeholders across the organization to translate strategic priorities into clear, effective communications while ensuring consistency, quality, and timely execution.

What You'll Do

What They Are Looking For:
  • 7+ years of progressive communications and project management experience within a corporate environment

  • Previous experience leading and developing a team
  • Experience supporting senior executives and organizational change initiatives
  • Strong writing, editing, verbal communication, and executive presentation development skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and complex, cross-functional initiatives in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience developing and implementing communications processes, workflows, and governance standards
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and SharePoint
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, or a related field; advanced degree is a plus
