Job summary

MBTA is seeking a Communications Coordinator (Operational Readiness) to support the rollout of the new fare system. You will craft emails, newsletters, website content, FAQs and presentations, and help prepare training materials for multiple projects.

The role supports internal and external customers and communities, coordinates volunteers and events, and maintains project timelines. A bachelor’s degree and transit communications experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
• Two years of experience in supporting the development of written communications for a professional organization.
• Ability to work on multiple projects with different objectives simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
• Ability to work proactively and independently, asking questions and for guidance from supervisor as needed.
• Experience in stakeholder engagement/coordination in a transit environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop content for emails, newsletters, website, materials, FAQs, and presentations.
• Assist with preparation and organization of project information, training materials, and instructional processes.
• Monitor and manage project timelines to keep milestones and deadlines on track.
• Create communications templates and a resource toolkit for recurring initiatives.
• Build a project management plan and tracking system for communications projects.
• Coordinate volunteers, support staff, vendors, and events.
• Respond to MBTA staff inquiries regarding project information.
• Develop a content review and approval process for stakeholders.
• Adhere to brand style guides and customer-facing terminology.
• Respond to inquiries in a professional and courteous manner.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
