Job summary

The Studio Museum in Harlem is seeking a Communications Intern to assist the Communications Department in delivering the Museum’s mission to stakeholders, press, and diverse audiences. You will learn institutional voice, strategy, and media relations while drafting copy for administration, programs, and exhibitions, and support records maintenance.

Ideal candidates are mature undergrads, grads, or recent grads with strong writing and organization, portfolio links, and familiarity with design

Qualifications

• Excellent writing and communication skills
• Superb attention to detail, highly organized, able to work independently
• Familiarity with social media and online email marketing tools; proficient in Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft 365

Responsibilities

• Draft copy for administrative, programming, and exhibition needs
• Support communications strategy and media relations best practices
• Assist with maintaining the Communications Department’s records and perform administrative tasks
