University of Virginia, via UVAFinance, seeks a Communications Generalist to develop and execute strategic communications that support the department's mission, initiatives, and priorities. The Communications Generalist assists with the development and execution of strategic communications that support UVAFinance's mission, major initiatives, and organizational priorities. The ideal candidate has strong writing and editorial skills, an eye for clarity and accessibility, and a talent for translating financial and technical information into user-friendly content. This position works closely with colleagues across UVAFinance and partners throughout the University to deliver consistent, transparent communication across multiple channels while supporting digital accessibility, training communications, and stakeholder engagement initiatives.
Salary of between $44,000 - $50,000 per year based on education and experience.
This is a one year term-limited restricted position.
This position will remain open until filled. This is an exempt level, benefited position. The University will perform background checks on all hires (if required) prior to employment. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States. For this role, the University will not sponsor or consider candidates requiring sponsorship for employment visas now or in the future.

Education: Bachelor's Degree required.
Experience: 1+ years of relevant experience required.
This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
