Responsibilities

  • Draft and edit communications materials including press releases, media advisories, talking points, op-eds, social posts, emails, and messaging documents.
  • Monitor, collect, and organize press clips and media coverage.
  • Assist with drafting and distributing press materials, pitching reporters, coordinating interviews, staffing press conferences, and supporting rapid-response moments.
  • Support logistics and communications execution for press conferences and public-facing activations.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to manage timelines, deliverables, and client needs.
  • Conduct audience research to support communications strategy.

What You'll Do
  • Draft and edit communications materials, including press releases, media advisories, talking points, op-eds, social media posts, email copy, and messaging documents
  • Monitor, collect, and organize press clips and media coverage
  • Assist with drafting and distributing press materials, pitching reporters, coordinating interviews, staffing press conferences, and supporting rapid-response media moments
  • Support logistics and communications execution for press conferences and public-facing activations
  • Coordinate with internal creative, communications, and paid media teams to manage timelines, deliverables, and client needs
  • Conduct issue-specific and audience research to support communications strategy
Required Qualifications

  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and responsive in a fast-paced, client-driven environment
Preferred Qualifications

Any one of these would be a bonus, but they are not expected:

  • Agency, political, or advocacy experience
  • Experience with mass email tools (CRMs like Mailchimp, Constant Contact, Action Network, Every Action or similar)
  • Experience with social/traditional media monitoring or analytics tools like Meltwater

NOTE: This position requires in-office attendance Monday-Thursday. Our DC office is located in Metro Center. The hourly compensation for this position is $20, and fellows are expected to be in office Monday-Thursday 9am-4pm for a total of 28 hours per week. This position is a 6-month contract with the opportunity for extension or full-time employment.
