About Us

The East Bay Leadership Council (EBLC) is a public policy nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening the economic vitality and quality of life in the East Bay. Through thoughtful collaboration with business, government, and community leaders, we advocate for policies that foster a thriving region.

In addition to our advocacy work, EBLC provides staff support to the Contra Costa Economic Partnership (CCEP), a nonprofit organization that conducts research and develops programs focused on regional economic development and workforce readiness.

Together, EBLC and CCEP work to shape a thriving East Bay where businesses and communities can grow and succeed.

About the Job

EBLC and CCEP are seeking a kind, organized, and passionate Communications & Events Associate to join our collaborative and mission-driven team. In this full-time role, you will help engage a dynamic network of business and civic leaders across Contra Costa and Alameda counties through impactful events, compelling communications, and meaningful member experiences.

Reporting to the President & CEO, you will manage logistics for in-person and virtual events, create digital content that elevates our voice and brand, and support outreach strategies that drive membership engagement and growth. You’ll collaborate across teams, contribute to a wide range of creative projects, and play a key role in advancing our mission to build a stronger East Bay.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is curious about public policy, eager to grow as a communications and events professional, and excited by the chance to work on issues like job growth, housing affordability, transit access, educational opportunity, health equity, the energy future, and water reliability. You’ll be part of a small but high-impact team and work alongside some of the region’s most thoughtful business and civic leaders.

  • Support the Membership Committee in advancing membership development efforts by coordinating volunteer engagement and leading member engagement initiatives focused on fostering retention.
  • Provide administrative support to the President & CEO in membership development, including lead intake, CRM updates, meeting scheduling, and status tracking.

  • Engage with the public, members, and community leaders in a professional and approachable manner, including occasional public speaking or presenting to the Board of Directors.

  • Travel periodically to meetings and events throughout the East Bay region.
  • Perform other related duties, as needed.
