Job summary

Globe Communications LLC is seeking an Equipment Operator to operate bucket trucks and aerial lift equipment for telecom installations and repairs. You will ensure precision, safety, and efficiency while working on overhead lines and underground utilities.

Responsibilities include operating heavy equipment, performing site tasks, and maintaining safety in all weather conditions. The role demands physical fitness and reliable teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Must be able to read prints and interpret utility maps to identify underground utilities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and teammates.
  • Lift/carry up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Operate diesel or gasoline-powered equipment to install/repair utilities.
  • Perform clearing, grading, excavations and other equipment functions on sites.
  • Restore property or worksite after installation/repair of utilities.
  • Perform general construction tasks under supervision.
  • Follow directions and maintain safe working habits per regulations.
  • Execute additional duties as assigned.

What You’ll Do
  • Drives and/or operates diesel or gasoline powered equipment to/from/on jobsite (Backhoe, Trencher, Directional Bore, Digger Derrick, Pole/Bucket Truck) associated with installation and repair of underground/aerial utilities
  • Perform clearing, grading, excavations and all other equipment functions of construction sites
  • Property or worksite restoration as needed associated with installation and repair of underground/aerial utilities
  • Performs general construction work (to include physical labor i.e. using hand tools, lifting materials on average up to 50 lbs, etc.) under direction of Foreman or Supervisor
  • Performs other duties as necessary
  • Must be able to demonstrate ability to follow directions, produce quality work, maintain safe working habits/conditions according to all Federal, State, and Company regulations and policies
What You’ll Need
  • You are at least 18 years old
  • You are authorized to work in the United States for this company
  • You have a valid Driver's License, CDL preferred
  • You have basic knowledge of and ability to operate various types of utility trucks and equipment in a safe manner
  • You have basic knowledge of and ability to use hand tools and equipment in a safe manner
  • You may have the ability to read prints and interpret utility maps to identify the type and size of underground utilities
  • You have 1-3 years minimum experience within the Utility Construction/Maintenance industry
  • You may have prior experience with installation/repair/maintenance associated with underground utilities
  • You are able to communicate effectively with customers, employees, etc.
  • You are able to lift/carry 50 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs as needed with or without assistance
  • You are able to work as needed (over-time, after hours, on weekends, for emergencies or on-call)
  • You are able to maintain a safe work environment
  • You are able to work in all weather conditions
