Job summary

Star Construction, LLC is seeking an Operator of Telecom Aerial Equipment in Owensboro, KY. You will operate bucket trucks and other aerial lift gear to install, maintain, and repair overhead fiber and telecom lines, while prioritizing safety and efficiency.

You’ll perform construction tasks, assist in emergency restoration, and coordinate with teams to ensure proper line clearance and alignment. Must be 18+, with a valid driver's license and telecom experience.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Authorization to work in the United States.
• High school diploma, GED or relevant work experience.
• Valid state driver’s license with at least two years of driving and clean record.
• Six months of supervised aerial telecom equipment operation experience.
• Willing to work overtime, weekends, and extended hours when needed.
• Capable of safe work in all weather conditions, including high winds and extreme temperatures.
• Strong self-starter with good communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate bucket trucks, aerial lifts and telecom equipment at job sites and in transit.
• Install, maintain, and repair overhead fiber optic and telecom lines following industry standards.
• Perform general construction tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds and using hand tools.
• Follow directions to complete tasks efficiently while complying with safety regulations.
• Restore work areas by securing poles, managing cables, and aligning telecom lines.
• Travel for emergency response efforts with short notice to assist network restoration.
• Identify utility conflicts and ensure proper clearance for aerial installations.
• Review and follow minimum approach distances near electrical infrastructure.
• Maintain positive relationships with internal teams, contractors, and utility partners.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors to ensure project efficiency.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Do

What You’ll Need

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Authorization to work in the United States
• High school diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience
• Valid state driver’s license with a minimum of two years of driving experience and an acceptable driving record
• Six months of supervised aerial telecom equipment operation experience
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a teamWilling to work overtime, weekends, and extended hours as needed
