ROLE DESCRIPTION

Location: Rockville, MD, Hybrid Opportunity after 90 Days

Reports to: Executive Director, Communications

Position Type: Full-Time, Exempt

Salary Range: $60,000-$80,000, commensurate with experience

OVERVIEW

The Mechanical Contractors Association of America (MCAA) is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Communications Coordinator to support the execution of the association's communications, marketing, digital content, and event initiatives.

This role assists with content production, website management, email communications, social media publishing, project coordination, and conference marketing efforts. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, manages multiple priorities effectively, and is committed to delivering accurate, high-quality work.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Content & Communications
  • Draft, edit, proofread, and publish content for websites, newsletters, email communications, marketing materials, and association resources.
  • Maintain editorial calendars, publishing schedules, content archives, and communication resources.
  • Support content planning and production efforts for conferences, educational programs, workforce development initiatives, and member engagement activities.
  • Coordinate content reviews, approvals, and publishing workflows to ensure accuracy and timely delivery.
Digital Communications & Marketing
  • Update and maintain content across MCAA websites using WordPress and related content management systems.
  • Build and deploy email marketing campaigns and association communications.
  • Coordinate social media publishing and digital marketing efforts across approved channels.
  • Monitor and maintain digital content to ensure consistency, accuracy, and alignment with MCAA brand standards.
  • Assist with reporting and performance tracking for digital communications initiatives.
Communications Operations
  • Maintain project schedules, production timelines, marketing deliverables, and department workflows.
  • Track deadlines, approvals, and project assets across multiple concurrent initiatives.
  • Coordinate communication among stakeholders to support efficient project execution.
  • Assist with documenting department procedures, standards, and processes.
Conference & Event Support
  • Support marketing and communication efforts for conferences, meetings, webinars, and special events.
  • Assist with conference websites, attendee communications, mobile app content, speaker materials, and promotional assets.
  • Coordinate presentation collection, event content updates, and production deliverables.
  • Provide on-site support for conferences, meetings, and association events as needed.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism, or a related field, with two to five years of professional experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn new technologies and workflows quickly.
  • Occasional travel and flexible work hours, including evenings and weekends, required to support conferences, educational programs, meetings, and special events.
