Communications Coordinator

Sand Creek Community Schools is looking for a Communications Coordinator; a part-time position responsible for strategic communication to promote the district’s mission, engage families and community, and manage its public image through various channels such as social media, emails, school website, newsletters, and podcasts.

An ideal candidate for this position creates content, manages the school's social media, and maintains excellent interpersonal relationships.

Reports to: Superintendent

Key responsibilities

• Create engaging content, including marketing materials and quarterly newsletters.
• Develop and execute communication strategies across digital and print platforms.
• Ensure transparency and build trust with the community through strategic communication.
• Update and manage the district's social media accounts.
• Collaborate with other departments to strengthen the district's mission and highlight staff and student achievements.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations or related field
• Fundraising, sales, or marketing experience
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Experience working in an educational environment preferred
• Ability to maintain confidentiality

Terms of Employment

• Part time position with flexible schedule
• Background check and fingerprinting (specific to Michigan Public School employment) required
• Hired and paid through Edustaff
• Yearly Salary: $22,000
