Job summary

  • Three or more years of experience in communications, marketing, content creation, graphic design, social media, public relations, or related work.

Responsibilities

  • Create, write, edit, schedule, and publish content across social media, email, newsletters, website, and other digital channels.
  • Assist with mission-focused stories, program highlights, announcements, campaigns, and community-impact content.
  • Maintain the communications/content calendar.
  • Coordinate with programs to collect photos, video, stories, quotes, and program updates.
  • Track basic engagement information and provide updates to leadership.
  • Create flyers, social media graphics, presentations, invitations, signage, newsletters, event materials, and other communications materials.
  • Apply brand standards, templates, messaging, and visual guidelines.
  • Maintain organized files of templates, photographs, videos, logos, graphics, and other materials.
  • Coordinate assigned creative projects from development through completion, including revisions and distribution.
  • Provide communications materials for community, fundraising, awareness, and organizational events.
  • Prepare event invitations, signage, programs, presentations, social media content, and post-event communications.
  • Assist with communications at community events and outreach activities.
  • Coordinate needs with staff, community partners, printers, advertisers, and vendors.
  • Coordinate with printers, advertisers, photographers, designers, and other vendors to obtain quotes and proofs.
  • Assist with communications supporting volunteer recruitment, opportunities, orientation, reminders, recognition, and engagement.
  • Develop volunteer-facing communications materials and digital content.

Job Summary: The Communication Coordinator is the primary day-to-day creative and communications resource for Helping People Succeed. Under the direction of the Chief Advancement Officer, this position coordinates and assists content creation, graphic design, brand implementation, event communications, and volunteer communications while ensuring materials are accurate, professional, consistent, and aligned with HPS messaging and brand standards.

Responsibilities:
  • Create, write, edit, schedule, and publish content across HPS social media, email, newsletters, website, and other digital channels.
  • Assist with mission-focused stories, program highlights, announcements, campaigns, and community-impact content.
  • Maintain the communications/content calendar.
  • Coordinate with HPS programs to collect photos, video, stories, quotes, and program updates.
  • Track basic engagement information and provide updates to the Chief Advancement Officer.
Graphic Design & Brand Support
  • Create flyers, social media graphics, presentations, invitations, signage, newsletters, event materials, and other communications materials.
  • Apply HPS brand standards, templates, messaging, and visual guidelines.
  • Maintain organized files of templates, photographs, videos, logos, graphics, and other communications materials.

Community Engagement & Event Support

Volunteer Communications & Support
  • Assist with communications supporting volunteer recruitment, opportunities, orientation, reminders, recognition, and engagement.
  • Develop volunteer-facing communications materials and digital content.
  • Assist with timely volunteer communications in coordination with the Chief Advancement Officer.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and move throughout office and event environments.
  • Lift/carry up to 50 lbs. of marketing or event materials as needed.
  • Travel to HPS offices, community events throughout Martin, St. Lucie, and Okeechobee Counties.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required; occasional evenings/weekends required for HPS events.
Equipment Used:
  • Standard office technology and equipment, including laptop/computer, printer, scanner, and multifunction devices.
  • Common productivity software and digital platforms as required for daily tasks.
  • Personal cell phone.

Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Strong writing, editing, organizational, and visual communication skills.
  • Experience with Canva and Microsoft Office 365; ability to learn website and digital communication platforms.
  • Photography and basic video/reel creation experience preferred.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work collaboratively.
  • Professional judgment and ability to represent HPS appropriately in public-facing communications.
  • Adhere to established safety procedures and practices in the work area.
