Job summary

Xcel Energy in Denver, Colorado is seeking a Communications Consultant who will plan, write, edit and coordinate internal and external messages across print, digital and presentation collateral. You’ll partner with designers, vendors and business clients to deliver clear, actionable communications on time and on budget.

The role requires strong writing, project management and client-relations skills and offers a hybrid work model with onsite days Tue–Thu.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in journalism, communications, marketing, public relations or related discipline.
• Five years experience with direct client, designer and production vendor interaction.
• Ability to write clearly, concisely and appropriately for target audiences.
• Able to manage multiple projects at a fast pace.

Responsibilities

• Plans, researches, writes, edits and coordinates development of print, electronic and web-based communications.
• Coordinates work with graphic designers to ensure final products meet client needs.
• Documents and improves processes to ensure on-time results within budget.
• Works with cross-functional teams to implement communications plans and provides counsel to clients.
• Collaborates with printers, direct mail houses and other vendors to meet quality and timing requirements.

Contributes to corporate goals and targets through implementation of communications plans for internal and external audiences. Coordinates work with other Communications staff to ensure alignment with overall strategy for the company and/or business units, jurisdictions and issues.Essential ResponsibilitiesPlans, researches, writes, edits and coordinates development of print, electronic and web-based communications, including brochures, bill inserts, fact sheets, presentations and collateral material.Coordinates work and schedules with graphic designers, ensuring final products meet client needs. Documents and improves processes to produce quality, on-time results within budget.Serves on various cross-functional teams to provide communications perspectives and helps develop and implement plans and tactics to achieve team's mission. Provides communications counsel to clients.Works closely with vendor-partners, including printers, direct mail houses, bindery shops, etc., to ensure production meets quality and timing requirements; receives invoices and initiates payment process, including ensuring correct budget codes are used.
